Very Very Very Noisy Hen!!!!????

well i have three hens, while two are in the nesting box, one of them is crowing and non-stop, but she isnt in the nesting box. She goes "bawk bawk bawk baaaawwwwwkkkkkk!" and constantly! is that normal?

Either she's singing for them or her favorite nest box is being used and she's impatiently waiting for it to be available again

Yes, it can be very hard to tell the difference between the "hey, you, get offa my nest" song, and the "I just laid and egg, and, boy, is my butt tired" song.

Mine were so lound when they first starting doing the egg song I would keep running to the window to check on them. After a few months of laying the egg song isn't so loud. Now they are bawking because we have a hawk hanging around....Glad they are so loud because my Husband who is home a lot during the day heard them cutting up and went to the wondow to check and he chased the hawk away last week that was sitting on top of the run. I am glad my girls are so loud!!!

When my first one was trying to lay, the other 3 were going nuts. one particular was bawking something fierce. I would guess it is normal
