Very weak, sick hen can't walk

Thanks, I will try to get some of that together. I gave her more egg and she ate that tonight and now she is sleeping so I'll let her sleep and get her some vitamins in the morning.

I will try that on her leg, tonight when I was helping her get resituated for bed she tried to stand up by herself again but that bad leg the toes didn't open up. Since she was wanting to stand up and eat her egg, I held her putting very little pressure on her legs and she ate that way. I'll try the mineral oil in the morning, I don't think I have any of that on hand.

Thanks all for the advice, I'm crossing my fingers that I can pull her through, I get real positive about it and then go in there and check on her and all my hope crashes but then she starts moving around and I start hoping I'm doing it all right again.

We had chickens as a little kid in the city and we NEVER had anything like this before. We had any problems at all and those silly chickens slept in the doghouse WITH the dog and laid their eggs. We recently inheirited a whole "small" farm of animals and it is learn as we go. Thankfully, so far, we haven't had any casualty's and I've fixed all our issues with info from the internet, well except the breach goat baby, LOL. The vet had to do that, I wasn't strong enough.

Night all and a great big thanks.

scaley legs...could be mites Cover her legs in petroleum jelly that will suffocate any. Vitamins are important but make sure you get the ones with electrolytes. Electrolyte will keep her from dehydration and that is like ubber impotrant.

Worms yup go ahead and worm her for sure if you saw one.

She needs layer feed but increase it to a higher protein food like a 18% - 20%. She needs more than scratch for sure...that is a mere treat for her.

It sounds like you have it under control. Get her wormed, dust her again if you see any live mites/lice and keep pampering her.
