Vet or antibiotic or kill, any comment welcomed

Second batch of chicken, first time dealing w fancy breeds n first time dealing w sickness.

It s one of my 30+ 1 week old chicks. Has a blind/ infected eye n everything else looks fine.

Am isolating him/her from the main brooder to avoid being pecked on (never observed so, just in case). If you have dealt w similar issues, let me know if a visit to a vet, an application of human antibiotic ointment or a kill is the most appropriate way to lessen the possible suffering
 
Poor baby, I'm sure someone more experienced will be along shortly. Hope your little one gets the help it needs. Hang in there :)
 
It wuldnt hurt clean eye with water and q tip, apply neosporin with out any "caine" product in it to see if that helps at all. Is the chick drinking and eating ok?
 
Well, she probably doesn't need a vet. It's too soon to tell if she needs an antibiotic. And a bad eye is not really a good reason to kill her. Birds have two eyes. She can live without one.

I also use plain Neosporin on eye injuries. Works like a charm. Try that for a few days and see what you get.
