Hi and welcome !
I love my vets ,but they are free to give their opinions , which I don’t like .

If she has a percentage of protein ducks should be on, please share it !

It isn’t always fees able for us country folks to find duck food , and besides what if we’ve got chickens in there too??

Chick grower comes in many different percentages, call them we need answers

I like to just receive just facts please
I will be sure to call her Monday morning. Maybe I can just keep the same food and add a bit of protein. Either way, I will get back to ya'll with the numbers she gives me.

I had a meal worm farm in an aquarium years ago , you can get them online or in pet stores that have reptiles usually .

They stink , but they do love them

I thought til 20 weeks duck starter then layer is ok?? How old is this duck??
Dandy's birthday is 4/18/18. So I guess a little over 4 months. The starter Doesn't day duck specific. It's just chick starter but the feed store said it was fine for her. I was giving her all she could eat twice a day until she got duck boobs and her butt nearly drug the floor. She was just too fat. So I added cut corn as a filler and less of the grower. She was still getting fatter so I cut her down to once a day. Now she's a healthy 3lbs. I read on here that corn is fattening so I took it out. Vet said her weight was perfect but if the chick grower wasn't "water fowl" specific, that I needed to change to one that is because the generalized one I use wouldn't have enough protein. The only thing the feed stores carry around me is chick grower medicated or non, and chicken scratch.

Are you feeding a certain amount per bird? I’m getting 3 khaki Campbell on Tuesday , it would be nice to know ....

Also they are 3 months and on mixed grains , when I get them I’ll give duck food till 6 months ? Or so

Most duck owners here feed an all flock feed which is anywhere between 16% - 20% protein depending on the brand.
Chick starter is fine for protein. What it doesn't have is enough niacin for ducks. A feed geared towards all flocks will generally have the minimum amount of niacin for ducks.
Vets are great resources and should be consulted when needed, but animal nutrition is not a major focus in the program. I would consult Storey's guide for nutrional advice (as well as most duck owners on this forum) vs the vet.
