Hello!

So I was on the vet RX site, and they said that VetRX was a slight adaptation of a recipe used for humans in the 1900s!

Sure enough, here is the "Save the Baby" medicine with very similar ingredients as VetRX. https://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/search/object/nmah_724639

VetRX:
Made with 3.3% (v-v) Alcohol, U.S.P. This proven mixture contains Canada Balsam, Camphor, Oil Origanum, Oil Rosemary, blended in a corn base.

Save the Baby:
alcohol, 8% (drug active ingredients)
Canada balsam (drug active ingredients)
camphor (drug active ingredients)
lard (drug active ingredients)
oil origanum (drug active ingredients)
oil rosemary (drug active ingredients)

So, is there a modern day Save the Baby medicine for humans? Other than actually using VetRX on a person. I know that VetRX is often called the chicken version of Vicks vapor rub, but the ingredients are actually fairly different. We used to treat people with congestion with VetRX ingredients, is there a reason we don't anymore?

(Really hoping for somebody with knowledge here)

Thanks!

You bet there's a reason why! Almost everything in vet r x is natural and a plant.Derivative. Since you can't put a patent on nature, they weren't able to patent the formula. Therefore, they could not make any money on it. Everything in this world is about money and pharmaceuticals.
