Vetwrap and poop resistance

While I find vetwrap wonderful, I find it caked with poop at bandage changes (feet). What can be used to protect the bandage/wound better from poop?

I use duct tape. It can somewhat cake with poop, but is almost entirely waterproof for the short term. The gauze stays dry protecting the wound...and that's what counts. You'll need sharp scissors to cut thought it when removing it.
