What your feeling is hormone release from over stimulating with love. Parrots do the same thing. It can cause egg binding so when she does it rest from the loving.

agreed, my drake still does it when hes calm

I've had ducks vibrate their heads when they're enjoying my attention, or when they're feeling aggressive/dominate. (The latter I've only seen in my drake, and that was when other ducks were around) I think they can do it both ways, but if she was falling asleep, I think your duck was enjoying your pets and singing!

Because when my drake was vibrating his head in an 'aggressive' manner, he was showing other dominate poses, like raising his crest and lowering his wings and trying to jump on me/bite at me.
