Vigorous plant for poultry pasture

White clover. Fence off an area first to let it get established and don't mow it if possible so it'll seed itself and spread. I personally think it's softer and cooler to sit on in the summer and looks better than grass so I have an awful lot of it established in my yard and pasture.

You can also sow some oats. It'll grow fast and if you don't cut it and let it seed, the birds will eat it before it drops. They love pretty much anything going to seed but won't eat the clover seed which is a good thing if you want the clover to spread.
