Buying materials to build coop. What say you experts? Vinyl in the coop and if so glue? It seems to me the glue would be toxic!

i put vinyl down on the floor, the poop board and the nest boxes. I laid it before I built the walls, so no need for glue there. I stapled it around the lip on the poop board, and the sand and pdz hold it in place, no need for glue there.

didn't glue it in the nest boxes, not overly concerned with it in there. Once the bedding is in and they start nesting, I don't think it's going anywhere, I did cut it to fit kind of tight too.....

I will say there are a LOT of people on the forum who coat their floors and the bottom couple of inches with blackjack 57 roofing compound and are very happy with it. Had I seen that before I built mine, I might have gone that way too

I used just a few screws and washers to tack up my vinyl flooring.....
...used staples on the poop board, wished I'd used more.

I don't think glue is necessary, but I used one single heavy duty foam backed sheet, not tiles.

See My Coop page, under my avatar.
