Great suggestions Maggiesdad! I'm hoping to bump the flock from 6 to 10-12 this spring. Karen has some lovely EE's and I'm hoping to get a couple chicks. Also hoping to pick up a couple other breeds at Gilmanor. Names waiting to be claimed: Sugar, Ameri, Portari, Cracko, Benzo, Lido....

I had EVERY intention of NOT having a rooster. Hurra was supposed to be my 'dark chocolate' egg layer... until she started crowing and growing 'roo feathers'. For a long time I moped around whining that hurra was a himma...

But he's turned out to be a pretty good roo so far. He's not the nicest - and not one of those mythical snuggly roos that you hear about on here sometimes - but we've come to an agreement that if he wants the hand that dispenses treats, he has to stop attacking the shoes.

We just set some French black copper marans, french blue copper marans, some of our show ameraucanas, and some of our duck eggs...........will possibly have a select few available for sale in near future if anyone is interested..........we're in Madison,Va

Mythical snuggly roos? LOL!
There's no such thing! They simply don't exist!

...well... except for that one, maybe.

...um... and that one?

Funny what kids will do to one's flock!

Beautiful pictures of your flock!
Thank you!
