I thought about that after I said that I would take her. I wish that she was a golden. Hopefully the Andalusians and Anconas will let her hang out with them. Those 5 are usually close together.

Just thinking about the hawks. Most of the birds that have been hawk victims are out in the open a lot more. We let our flyers do what they do best. The fly up and roost in the trees when not foraging. I think this breed will be fine. We have plenty of trees, and places to hide.

I have a large variety of large fowl chickens. The majority of my flock consists of Australorps, Blue and Splash Marans, Dominques, Minorcas, and Welsummers. There are 26 other breeds on our small farm.

I think I know the answer, but am going to ask a dumb question - will chickens eat muscadine/scuppernong fruit?

If so, and I suspect the answer is "yes", I need to figure out how to protect the vines.

I'd assume they'd eat Muscadine berries. Never heard of snuppernog. Are the vines to where your could build what people grow grapes on (cant remember what those are called) and then fence off the vines?
