Virginia

The further you got from the parking area, the more space there was.
Last spring was my first time there, so I'm only giving info on what I saw. There were several 'blocks' of vendors right at the entrance that were PACKED in. But a little further back there was a bit more room to spread out, and on around the road/path it got better and better. I suppose the problem with that is the old 'location, location, location' thing. If you're in the back, people might spend their money before they get to you. Personally, I tried to check everyone out first, then go back on my way out and make purchases. The friend I was with was buying trees and such as we went and asking them to hold them till we were ready to leave.

is space available limited? I'm traveling about 3hr's to get there
You'll need to get up with the chickens...
I can't believe I just said that.
I pulled in at 6:30am, and it was already 2/3 full. So I was kinda towards the back... but I sold my first chicken at 6:45!

HEY! Welcome to BYC!

This time of year, chicks are easy to find. There are MANY here on BYC. Check under the buy/sell/trade sections. You may find some close enough for you to pick up. Almost all feed stores will have chicks for sale from now till early summer. Then, of course, there are all the online hatcheries you can order chicks-by-mail. AND there are swap meets all over the place where folks come (often to a feed store or a tractor supply) and sell chicks, chickens, etc.

Best of luck to you!

Welcome, knitchick! We joined last month and are still learning our way around. You will most likely get some good local responses for chicks but if not we'll be in your area the last weekend in February and have just hatched out 26 olive Easter Eggers if you're still looking by then.
