welcome to the site! :) I'm new too!

well, I managed to get a lot of nothing done. LOL I did get the doors hung on the new coops, but there's still no wire on them. i'll cut that and hang it probably tomorrow, if I can dig out my air compressor (crown stapler for attaching wire). wish I had an air-wire cutter... but they're expensive LOL

Well, Martha the game hen went broody last week, so last night my bride and I set 7 Australorpe eggs under her and in a few weeks we'll see what happens. Really looking forward to this adventure!

I'll keep an eye on your hatch, then... I lost my Australorp rooster this weekend. That will put a crimp in my hatching for a while... I have two hatches out with a handful of Australorps in each, so I'm hoping to get a cockerel or two.

Good luck Martha!

we had wonderful weather this weekend. got a lot work done on the new coop this weekend. hopefully we will get our baby chicks this week. have the brooder ready now. planning to keep them in my kitchen while in the brooder. hope all yall have good week.

Well, I took advantage of the day. Cleaned out two coops and dumped the cleanings into the garden where my bachelors began to tear through it. I am betting that the garden will be super productive again this year. Did the same last year while letting the entire egg layer flock have access to the garden.

This resulted in cabbages that were 14-16 inches in diameter, cleaned and weighing 9.5-10 pounds each! The four hills of butternut squash produced 2.5 bushels of butternut squash. Not to mention loads of greens, peppers and tomatoes.
