Are you new to chickens or experienced?
Do you have many chickens, or just a few?
What type of chickens do you have?
Do you raise your own laying birds and meat birds?
Are you on the coast, mountains or midway?
Personally,...
I am not new but I don't know everything and I am always willing to learn something new.
Hubby says I have too many and need to downsize again.
Mostly I have large Fowl, tiny chickens do not fare well in the mountains.
We raise laying birds but they are supposed to be dual purpose I can not eat my pets.
I am somewhere Around the mountainous areas.

Sunshine and it did not freeze last night. I was beginning to worry what with the 1 to 5 degree nights and the wind chill factors of -18 to -28 and not even rising to freeze during the day. Wow,... Were having a heat wave.

We got our first chickens about 1 year ago, so we're not really new... But we don't know everything, I'm on here to learn everything I can about chickens!
~
We have five chickens, and we're getting more this spring.
~
We have: two speckled sussexes, one black aussie, and two golden comets. (Getting wyandottes in the spring!)
~
We raise laying birds, but will start raising dual purpose this spring.

We're central VA.

I have been involved with chickens since June of 2012 (not including time as a kid ~ 50 years earlier!

My flock has varied. I currently have 22 but have had as many as 100.

I am a breeder legbars (cream, golden crele, and white), Swedish flower hens, and jubliee orpingtons and selective crosses. A couple of years ago, I hatched over 250 chicks, sold many, raised about 100 to select breeders, and sold or had processed the non-selected that did not make the breeder selection. Because we were moving from Loudoun County this last year, I did not hatch any chicks; I just did not have the time

I raise birds for eggs and meat. My meat birds are birds that did not meet the breeding selection cut, many of the cockerels are caponized.

I have recently relocated to Culpeper County, near the border of Rappahannock County. So I am near the foot of the mountains not far from Old Rag.

I am getting involved with local 4H group.

Long ago many decades ago I was a 4-h leader. But things were a changing even back then.

It was an interesting introduction. A lot of kids, some focus but having never been associated with 4H before it is a learning experience and more importantly, I am NOT the adult leader.

I have been involved in the Cream Legbar Club for several years working towards APA approval of the cream legbar. I have served as eastern region director, vice president and now serve as president of the club and show my chickens. So hopefully, I can help out in some way.

Hi. Just joined BYC. I am in Prince Edward County. I know very little about raising chickens but am eager and excited to learn. I look forward to getting to know some of you.
