Hi Ki4got...are you in Roanoke or in the surrounding area? How long have you had chickens? Nice to know someone is close by...may need some advice..

I get my chicks in May and my coop and run are ALMOST complete.

So, I'm in the Fredericksburg area and would like to know where I can buy supplies; does anyone have some input? BTW, I'm new to all of this, and just tring to map a gameplan.

Come to tractor supply in Fredericksburg for chick supplies. There is a swap there this Saturday. Several folks with birds for sale.

ok anyone in the roanoke area headed to the Gilmanor swap? I've got a truck with back seat and willing to drive if anyone wants to meet up and share gas money. hauling chickens is OK too. 8)

Fredericksburg tractor supply swaps are once a month.
Gilmanor on May 5th is the largest. It is near Ashland.

Hi Real-redhead...where about in Roanoke? Two of our 3 sons live in Roanoke City... How many chickens are you allowed to have in the city? Are you enjoying raising chickens? This is my 1st attempt and my chicks will arrive the first of May.

Any words of advice for a beginner ??
