Yesterday I was feeding my chickens and I came out to one of my hens puffed up on her roosting bar, kind of swaying back-and-forth and shaking, I thought she was cold, so I turned on her heat lamp and today when I came out, she was dead as I was feeding the rest of my flock I see this hen so I assume there is some sort of virus or something going through my flock but I don’t know what it is. Does anyone know about anything like this? I have isolated this hen from the rest of the flock

Scratch is not a complete feed, and should only be given occasionally as a small treat. Was the layer feed the main thing she ate? Was she young? Her comb in the picture looks a bit dark. Was she laying? Can you do a necropsy, and open her abdomen to look at her organs? Take pictures of organs if you can to post here. Your state vet can do a thorough one if you keep the body cold and take or ship it overnight tomorrow. Sorry for your loss.
