My garden is almost done, everything is planted and I'm trying something new this year by putting newspaper & mushroom soil between the rows. I finished that last night and my garden is beautiful if a little fragrant

This morning my mother came over to see it and asked what's that while pointing to a pile. I walked over to discover a fresh cow pie! Upon further inspection we discovered tracks and 2 more piles

Cows are certainly not uncommon around here, I live in the country but the closest dairy farm is almost a mile away and I just can't picture one walking up the road

Thankfully I only lost a few stalks of corn and a couple of string bean plants. For as many tracks are in there I'm very lucky that's all that was damaged.

I live in a neighborhood on the edge of town. Behind my house is an area of scrub brush--weesatch, rosehedge with a few decent trees. We put a gate in our back fence to be able to retrieve children's toys. The gate has been left unlatched and we have had cows and horses get into our yard! We also had baby raccoons in our small oak tree! The front yard looks like "town", but the backyard looks like "country". I love that. Unfortunately, the back pasture is being cleared-probably for a new neighborhood!

We have alot of new neighborhoods around here too. While it is still very rural I can't believe the difference from when I was a child.

that happened to us two days after we planted a roaming herd walked right threw stomping only three plants

but they left their "gifts" at my steps
