Hello!
My ducklings have been sitting/laying down quite a bit. I've added the nutritional yeast to their flock raiser and also 100mg Blue Bonnet Niacin capsules to their water. They seemed perkier after the capsules (I started those yesterday). However, I also bought the TSC Hi Level B complex. What is the dosage for ducklings who are a week old? Is it 1ml? I'd like to give it to them over food since I'm not really sure about giving it to them directly in their mouths. Can I put some in mealworms or another treat like eggs for all of them or should I try to give individual amounts to each one? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sitting down frequently can often be simply associated with growing ducklings; waterfowl grow at such a fast rate it is not uncommon to see the birds sitting down/resting often. At one week of age, it is rather uncommon to see niacin deficiency development; that tends to occur when birds are older around a few weeks of age.

If there were to be niacin deficiency developing, the niacin supplements you describe sound sufficient for treating such a scenario. If you disregard everything above, the dose for a one-week duckling would be a few drops - offer it over treats/ with grit provided.

Thanks so much! I was thinking the same thing about niacin and their age and all the other things I've been doing. I suppose it is good to have the Vitamin B Complex for emergencies in the future or if any of the ducklings don't seem to be doing well. I'll keep a watchful eye on them and use it as necessary, I guess.

I have always used the b complex you got instead of niacin flake or capsules. I usually put in 1/2 ml per duckling into a mash one time a day unless I have a defeciant duckling. I have had good luck doing that over the last few years doing it for the first few weeks
