Vitamin & Electrolyte Water

Our chicks are now 4 weeks old and doing nicely.... we've been adding vitamin and electrolyte (DuraVet) to the water since day one. Should they continue on this, or at some point can we give them just water? They are not outside yet, so they are fed chick starter/grower food. Thanks for any advise!

You should stop. The vitamins are probably OK but they can definitely get too much electrolytes. They should do fine on just their feed.

Electrolytes should only be given for the first week then once a week after that for the first 17 weeks. It would not hurt to do them occasionally after that if the weather is really hot.
