It's been 8 days since my hen was found unable to get up and seriously ill with coccidiosis. She was very very skinny and was probably sick way before thay point. She started responding to a corid drench + medicated water in the first couple of days, but at this point she's still very thin and weak and doesn't want to eat much. She will walk around the yard and forage but gets tired and lays down a lot. She pretty much has her color back but her comb is still droopy.

If I introduce something new she'll scarf it a few times that I offer it and then stop wanting it, and she has constant access to her regular feed which she doesn't really touch. This is the first morning I haven't given her a drench but she still has access to the medicated water. She was drinking well earlier this week but I don't notice her drinking as much now.

It's been a long time since I've had one this sick with coccidiosis and I can't find my notes on timeline/what I did for the last time one got this bad. I actually lost a hen this time too, which has never happened. I feel like if I syringed her some vitamins she may perk up a little more, but I don't know what kind I should give since all the mixes I have on hand seem to have b12. Does anyone have any guidance? That first loss hit me really hard and this hen seems to want to try to live.

B1 or thiamine is the vitamin to avoid while on Corid or amprollium. The drug works by mimicking thiamine, so as long as your vitamin is not thiamine (B1) you are fine. Once Corid is finished, I would then use a multiviamin supplement or 1/4 tablet of Super B complex which includes all of the B’s and C. Here is a good price for B complex:

I mistyped, I'm allergic to vitamin b12 and that's where my mind went! Do you have a recommendation for one without thiamine for now while she's still on Corid? All I have is poultry cell and rooster booster on hand.

Most vitamins have thiamine.
She should only be on the Corid for 5 days, I believe.
Some use Corid at the maximum dosage for 5-7 days. Some recommend then reducing the dosage to 1/4, and treating for an additional 5 days. I get a little confused by the different advice. Here is the chart on dosage:

Thank you, the chart is super helpful! I found some nutridrench in my first aid tub that I missed before, it doesn't appear to have added b1 so I gave her some of that.

NutriDrench does have thiamine, but it doesn ot say B1, just thiamine. They have a confusing label but thiamine is listed under ingredients:

Shoot, it sure does!! They left it out of the guaranteed analysis but it's down in the ingredients section. Do you have any advice for getting some better nutrition in her for the time being, or do you think I should change up treatment at this point? BTW you helped me the first time my first flock had coccidiosis years ago and with your advice I never lost one to it until now. I'm super pregnant and my husband has been doing all the chicken care, he's really beating himself up for not noticing things were off sooner.
