Hello all. I'm new here but have been lurking since we started researching ducks. Our two babies: a Pekin named Lilly and a Cayuga named Wednesday. We may be having to rename them for all we know. They are 7 weeks old today and I was just wondering if anyone had some guesses on voice sexing them?

Here is a video I took today when they were hounding me for lettuce. :)

Thanks SO much!

Thanks for the feedback and compliments. We love them. We think they are so beautiful too. We were hoping for at least one duck. Still hoping! Haha

I thought maybe the Cayuga was a duck because her quack isn't as sqeeky. Darn.

If he was a she you should be hearing honking by now. Mine all started the girl noises by 3-6 weeks and my boys were doing what yours were till around 9-10 weeks. I held out hope for so long but now that I've had both I feel like if they aren't making girl noises by 6+ weeks more than likely it's a boy. They sound just like my boys did.

Yup , you have two adorable boys! Girls are easy to find! Get them some girlfriends! Take good care of them!! So cute!!!!

Thank you! Yep...we'll have to order some girls. I was thinking maybe two female Cayugas. We are in a suburban neighborhood so getting more than that would be pushing it. We'll see how that works out. What do y'all think?

Our Pekin has been getting kind of aggressive with the food and not letting our Cayuga have his share.

I think if you are only getting 2 females you are asking for a lot of trouble. I would keep 1 male and add 2 females or just keep the boys and not add any girls or add about 6 females and keep both boys.

We'd like eggs so..... We're thinking about rehoming the pekin and getting two female/sexed Cayugas.

Anyone in the Austin TX area (or know anyone in this area) that would want to adopt this beautiful boy?

Thanks.
