Voles / Mice / Frogs = Yummy!

So...our ladies have recently taken a liking to alternative food sources. They're now preying on voles, mice, and frogs around the pasture. I'm grossed out by this, but my farm neighbors and boyfarmer assure me that these are "farm chickens," so they should be allowed to do as they will.

Doesn't this affect their wellbeing? Their eggs? Am I right that it's disgusting, or do I just need to be a better farmer and let them do what their predatory-killing-machine-little hearts desire?
 
Be concerned about projecting human values onto your chickens. They do exactly what they are supposed to do. Makes it easier on us if we let them.
 
How are you going to stop them?

Mine feasted on placentas while we were calving. Mmmmm good
