I have a 4 year old Australorp hen that started off with a swollen crop. Out of desperation I did vomit her as I had a loss of a hen last month due to the same symptoms. However now her crop is not really swollen but the little bit that's in there is squishy and when I pick her up or she puts her head down fluid keeps coming up. She wants to eat but each time she tries more fluid comes up. So far I've been treating her with Tylan 50 1/2cc IM once daily on day four of treatment. I've also added baking soda to her drinking water and offered her scrambled eggs with olive oil. Whatever this is seem to be going around my coop seeming like sore crop. Had a hen on 4/2/15 that I had treated for sore crop and she did pull through but she didn't do this vomiting on her own like my current hen is doing now. All my chickens have been dewormed since the onset of these issue to rule out the worm issue. Getting frustrated and at a loss. If anyone can help I would very much appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance......

Went searching on other threads and found a great link on one that may help others posting here in Hopes to help others. Fingers crossed I can get my girl back on track with the treatments in this attached article.

Update: after reading the article on impacted crops/slow crops and following most the advice on there, finally decided to try the crop bra. I managed to create one out of a paper surgical mask, the ones that tie in the back. This seems to be working well for my girl. Also did some renovation in the coop, lowering all the perches and adding a poop catch under the lower perches. Read on another thread to add Sweet PDZ to the poop catch and went and got some. Must say it works awesome, no odor and easy to clean. Anyway think the high perches may have been part of my problem, so hopefully with them lowered I'll see less issues with my girls. Only hope this information my help others with crop issues.
