I was just cleaning out the pen they were in over night and found a piece of glass in some poop! Do you think she could have passed that? Poor thing, I hope it didn't cause any internal damage if she did. All the poops look normal to me and there's no blood. This makes me want to move them to the front yard where I know there's no glass. My parents would never let me, though.

Wow glass in poop Sounds like that could have been the problem, but keep an eye on them and hopefully since your not seeing any blood all is well. Maybe try talking to your parents about this glass and see if they won't change their minds. Ducks are drawn to anything shiny so probably this piece of glass caught her attention. I find rusty screws quite often and thank the Lord I found it and not the ducks.

Then again she may have been having a bit of problem laying her egg you just never know since they can't tell us.

Just happy to hear she seems good now. Be careful and not give too much charcoal it can make them constipated.

I would consider having a few of my more patient understanding friends come over and comb the yard for glass, plastic, and metal. Do you know anyone with a metal detector? I have used a strong magnet to pull things up around the yard. In spite of my efforts, sometimes I find scary objects. They work their way up through the soil, I think.

And I agree, you may want to slow down the charcoal to avoid constipation. mercy.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've only given the charcoal three times, I don't think I've given them too much, there was quite a bit of poo in the pen this morning, as usual. I don't think she even needs it anymore, she seems back to normal. We do have a strong magnet that we've gone through the yard and garden with a couple years ago. I'll see what I can do about the glass and stuff today.
