Vulterine Guineas what do you know about them?

JoeG., I looked into them too, but they require such specialized care with temperatures, space, diet, etc., like casuarius wrote, that it was too much for me to take on, even if I DID have money to buy them! LOL. Can you imagine losing one to a predator if you free-range them? Ugh. But they are spectacularly beautiful, aren't they?

There are a few people on the site that raise Vulturine Guinea Fowl.
One that I remember in particular is spectrumranch.
You can search this ID for information about the birds.
They require a heated barn in the winter and plenty of habitat as
I remember and YES they are REALLY expensive and one does
not know it the birds will thrive once they are bought.
There are quite a few lines on Guineas, but the Vulturine
is best left in the plains of africa.
From what I have been told they have an extremly NASTY temperment.
I gave up this idea too.

They are such a neat looking bird, but I figured if I could get them for around $50.00 I would give them a try, But I see that even if I got them for free I would not be a good match for them.
