Vulture Hocks on Silkie Chicks?????

One of my silkie chicks has what looks like vulture hocks coming out from its leg. I have not noticed this before on my other silkie chicks before. The chick is about 2 weeks old. Are these vulture hocks and are these a DQ in the show ring. Is this a chick I need to sell and not use for breeding? Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question, I wish I did.

The only other bird I've seen those on is a Giant Partridge Cochin roo that I had... his were huge.

it sorta does look like vulture hocks.... are the feathers hard?

Sometimes it is just the way chicks feather out. Keep the bird until it is fully feathered out.

The feathers are soft.

Keep him. Those feathers are just growing in before the others.
