Vulturine guineas

Ive seen crested guineas at the Mt. Hope auction in OH last year, but never seen any of the vulturine ones..............

Texaspeafowl has them. Here is an email I got from them last Jan when I was looking into them

Hi,
We do have and raise Vulturine guinea fowl. At this time we do not have any for sale. The best thing to do is keep our email or phone and call later in the spring and summer to see how the birds are doing. We do have several pens of unrelated, wild caught breeders.. as well as several pens of captive breed unrelated breeders ... which should help those who intend to breed in the future. Birds were 250 each plus 25 for DNA sexing. Thanks, Sid

I believe Rick Jordan near Austin, Texas has them or used to raised them as well. I think he has a website if you google him. His farm is Hill Country Aviary.

Those are neat!

If only chickens came in that type of blue...

I definitely am going to invest in those in the future...when I have that kind of money to spend of course

. I actually just found out about that variety the other day when looking through my Poultry Encyclopedia...beautiful birds! And they don't sound as annoying as common guineas too! Here's a website that has a sound clip of what they sound like http://www.honoluluzoo.org/vulturine_guineafowl.htm
