Out of 12 silkie eggs (with a chance of showgirl) I had 2 eggs make it to lockdown but only one hatched. And she has hip issues so bad that she screams like it hurts when I try to band-aid for spraddle leg. So, I get to cull the only hatchling from 12 eggs

I have enough other eggs doing well that it can't be me or the bator. Must've been the shipping.
I have way overcompensated and now can't fit all the eggs that are coming into my bator.
Please don't make the same mistake

there is no sure and now Ken has given me permission to buy another bator when we have the money.

I suggest you build a bigger coop/ pens first LOL. Unless you already have room.

Ken is building the super coop. He is gonna finish the brooder section this weekend so we can move the three week olds out there. He already has one coop portion done with the super duper nesting boxes - boxes that stick out so I don't have to go in the coop, complete with a lid and removeable bottoms for easy cleaning. We ARE prepared.

I think Polish are harder to hatch for some reason. A member sent me a few and they were all fully developed but none hatched. I'm sorry you lost them.

Then why haven't you gotten that second incubator yet?

DH built me a perfect set up so that I could egt the whole mess out of the house. But I can't get the bator & infant brooder out yet, until the weather is stable. Then I can break out MY 2nd bator!!!

Building the coop is taking up quite a bit of our budget right now, and I won't order anything but the Brinsea, so we need to wait a bit.

I was just teasing anyway.

Oh I am so glad to hear it. Make sure to send me pics of them when they get older. I always wonder what they look like grown up.

The polish are so beautiful. I'm going to the susquehanna show this Sunday and baregretchen will be there. The concept of hand carrying eggs vs. the PO maybe too tempting.

Brenda,

If you come home from that show with baregretchen's frizzle frazzle Polish and don't come home with double to send me some, we are going to FIGHT!!!

PS: I like the tan ones (extra fluffy), the black and white ones, the brown ones, the white fluffyheaded roo, and uhhhh...all the rest.
