wacky waving arm inflatable tube man....effictive?

They work great! They’re a bit noisy and pricey but it’s worth it when they’re pets. I only run mine about 3-4 hours a day but after a year in weather, lawn sprinklers etc, the bearings sound like they’re starting to wear out. You’re not supposed to run them in the rain, or it could hurt the motor. I've left mine on in the rain a time or two by accident so that may be why mine is making a noise.

I think that I may try this. Amazon has a 6ft inflatable man for $115 and the portable generator for about $100. A buyer on a review said they brought the inflatable man for the specific reason of keeping hawks away from the chicken yard. It had been successful so far.
I used this dancing man all of last winter. We have hawks around from November to March. I used an extension cord from the patio so didn’t need a portable generator. My girls got used to it quite quickly. Best of all, it kept the hawks & birds of prey away.

Worth a try but before you spend that kind of money consider what these predator's normal diet is. Mostly rats, mice, wild birds. I'd make sure your coop was not attracting any of these prey animals and the predators are drawn to the coop. Rodents even leave urine trails visible in other spectrum of light invisible to humans but not to some raptors.

If so, deal with that problem too.
