"It's not just the vitamin D. There's also a really important nutrient called choline -- about 90 percent of us are short on this. It's been linked to a reduced level of inflammation in the body."

"One egg has about 25 percent of the choline we need for the whole day," she said.

And that right there is probably our new Fad Nutrient. We've had fats, carbs, protein, Vitamin C, D, E... folic acid... Omegas, those are still big right now... I bet we start hearing a lot more about this Choline... which brand do you think will include it in a supplement first? "Now with 110% of your RDA of Choline!" "All the Choline, none of the cholesterol!"

Because my wife has hi "C" and a bad heart the Doctor said no more than 2 eggs a week. My wife said we have our own free roaming chickens and he says, Oh, than you can have 4. FLIP FLOP, DOC!!!!

Uhg the great egg debate. Of course eggs are good for you! Just don't eat them with fatty meats or fried in butter. Oh yeah and don't eat 10 a day. People only beleive it if it is on TV.

I watched it on the early show this morning. People just need the media approval not even thinking the media is all driven by big companies. The biggest revelation on the show was the eggs are good for you if the chickens are fed well. So store bought eggs are not as good for you and all these people won't know that and go buy mass produced eggs thinking they are getting these really new healthy eggs. Well anyway I eat eggs everyday and I know what my chickens are eating. I love this topic!

My doctor, who has his own flock, has always said "all things in moderation." My problem lies in defining moderation--not one of my greatest capabilities.

I knew about the choline thing! It is part of my attempt to naturally reduce the inflammation in my brain due to Multiple Sclerosis that causes a lot of yucky symptoms for me. EGGS RULE!!! At least our home grown ones do.....

THIS!

EVERY natural food (other than, well, poisonous stuff, you get what I mean) has health benefits. Oh, and helf (<--what typo!? 'health' not helf) negatives. Even the beneficial things can become negative things. It's ALL a balance. Although the fad nutrient of Vit D had me LAUGHING. People in Southern California were all, "My doc said I need Vit D supplements!".... hahahaha. So everyone started drinking Vit D fortified milk for awhile. Rumours are started for that very reason....

Even antioxidants can kill you if consumed in excess. Heck, one gram too many is just as bad as one gram too little. With everything. Vit C. B vitamins. Fibre. All of it.

After a year of study I came to the conclusion the perfect diet just isn't humanly possible and we should just d our best to eat our best and balance it all out according to the type of humans we are. (Me being a fitter thinner person so needing more proteins/fats than most people, while some of my friends flourish best on high vitamin high carbo diets).

Hahaha, silly people. They probably get so much metabolic VitD their skin breaks it down regularly. Not like they live in Seattle... where it's not enough sun light to make enough metabolic vitD half the year. Wonder how many of those on vitD are going to get kidney stones.

All in moderation...

Love how people say it's natural, it must be good for you.

I'd like to offer up some organic fox glove in a salad and ask if it's good for you.
