I have two eggs hatching. One has pipped a small hole, but hasn't made any other progress. The eggs rolls around in the incubator, but he just doesn't seem to make the hole any bigger. The other egg is rocking and rolling in the incubator, but it hasn't even pipped. This has been going on for about 4-5 hours now. They are both peeping from time to time. Do I need to help them out? Should I wait, and if so, how long? This is day 20 in the incubator for them both.

You're gonna get all kinds of answers to this question. I will wait 24 hours after a pip to check it out, but once it starts zipping if it doesn't come right out, I help it cause everything I've had that started to zip and stopped got stuck.

Thanks! What about the one that is wobbling, but hasn't pipped. Should I put an air hole in that one? All of the eggs had nice, large air sacs on day 18.

Give them until tomorrow...

that's part of the reason I use cartons.... keeps the egg stable, like under the mother hen.

I waited and the little one made it out today....My first chick!!
