Hi all! I'm new to the forums but not completely new to ducks. We raised some when I was a kid. I just recently bought a property in Tacoma, WA, with a couple of acres of land where the previous owners had chickens and goats. The plan was to get some chickens first, but they took the coop with them when they left (rude!!) and there was already a pen set up where they kept their roosters that looks like it will be great for ducks...with a little bit of expansion (it's on the small side). So yesterday I went and ordered myself 4 khaki Campbell, 3 blue runners, and 3 Rouens, which will be sent to me next week. Can't wait!!! Why oh why do I have to wait until Wednesday/Thursday? *sigh*

You made the right choice choosing the Khaki campbell they are excellent layers, each of my khaki campbell lay an egg a day. Also, the Indian runners are so cute.

They showed up yesterday and all of my runners were dead :( As of when I left for work this morning, I had 4 campbells left (they gave me extra but one was weak and died last night and one, despite my best efforts to duckling proof it, crammed itself in the waterer and drowned *deep sigh*) and 3 very, very healthy and sprightly Rouens. I'm hoping they're all okay when I get home from work. I'll post some pictures tonight.
