My name is Eve and I live in the gold country foothills of Northern California. About 4 weeks ago, without any previous chicken experience, I went out and purchased 9 chicks. I have 3 Gold Laced Wyandottes, 3 RIR's, and 3 Americauna's. I pretty much just wanted chickens for the eggs... but I have a feeling this could be addicting. Who knew that chickens could be SO much fun? Last weekend, my husband and I were grocery shopping and adopted 2 week old (I'm guessing here) Runner ducks. They were being given away by a guy outside the store and I couldn't bear to think where they might wind up.
The rest of our "family" consists of: 3 paint horses, 2 llamas, 2 goats, 2 emus, 8 cats, 3 dogs, and a box turtle.
As the thread title states, I've already learned so much from the forums... so, many thanks to those of you who are so generous with your knowledge and pictures!
