I shop walmart for mostly the things I cannot get locally, like seasmie(sp) oil and other chinese products, since we eat a lot of those, one small piece of meat and the vegies will feed both of us pretty cheap. But for both meat and product i shop at our local Piggly wiggley. Know the people and know the product, and it's usually cheaper than WM/ I hever bought meat at WM so i have no idea what it tastes like, but I love their cheese sticks, check the price on them tho, 2 pks of 12 sticks is cheaper than l pk of 24. and real butter, they have it for $1.76 a lb. so i stocked up I'm like the lady that had 26 cans of tuna, stocking up for hard times. (I think I only have 16) marrie

I hate to put it this way but everyone always talks about the mom and pops stores but think about it the only thing walmart done was keep the owners of those stores from getting richer. Look around your community the ones that owned the mom and pops are well off and they try to run the stores with 4 or 5 people and charge and do what they like to the customers. Now that is not saying that all owners are this way but most are. Walmart brought a more level playing field so the m&p stores will have to compete for your business which is a good thing. Look at your community how many people work for walmart now if you take 10 more m&p stores would they still have a job the answer is no because they dont employ as many people so if you take out your local walmart that is around 500 jobs or maybe more that you will have to provide so that would be around 75 mom and pop stores. Now will those people have insurance and good pay i doubt it. Is walmart the devil maybe but who knows all i know is they employ a boat load of people and donate alot of money to keep their image up.

Yes, but most of the inferior junk they sell (usually knock-offs of quality products) gives jobs to a heck of a lot more chinese than americans.

Now that i cannot argue with but they do have things made in the usa and also the mom and pops sell knock off junk too just at a higher price

Then you should have called a customer service manager/supervisor. As long as the product can be rung up in the same manner (Wal-Mart sells green bell peppers EACH, not by the pound), then there shouldn't have been an issue. Especially if the product name and quantity added up. I know that at my Wal-Mart, I'm very lenient about the ad policy because I realize that people are trying to save money too. But if it can't be rung up, then it can't be sold that way.

I believe Aldi's sells their green bell peppers by the pound? That, Wal-Mart cannot match since they sell it by the quantity.

I will post this one time...some of the items that are "junk knock off" are made by the EXACT same company that makes the name-brand "junk."

I said I had multiple adds, they said /aldies, not me. And the knockoffs for walmart may be made by the same mfg. but not under the same standards. walmart, as welll as sams club, are one big rip off.

I think the quality of each store must depend on who's managing it. Our area Wal Mart is well known for mistreating employees. All except management are part time. No benefits. They told my nephew's pregnant wife to choose between heavy lifting stock work and unemployment. There is no crime problem, though. The store is always clean and customer service, while not as good as previous years, is still above average.
