Walking Squatted

Why is my chicken squatted and waddling? It is a rooster so not egg bound. I have been soaking in epsom salts. Thought maybe bumble foot but not sure. What else could it be?

Have you checked under the tail? I've seen them do that when their vents are plugged.

Not an expert, but that does look a bit like bumblefoot. @Wyorp Rock @Eggcessive

Some hens will sit upright if the have salpingitis or reproductive disorders. Yes, the cut and scab does look like bumblefoot. I would check the vent as well.

They can sometimes look like this if egg bound. It might be worth giving her a human calcium citrate tablet or a Tums orally, in case she is trying to pass an egg or a lash egg.

Is he pooping? I would check his vent and make sure it isn't obstructed.

Oops, didn’t read about it being a rooster. Sorry. They can get constipated or suffer from vent gleet. It might be good to inspect his vent with a gloved finger.

Thank you everyone for your advice. Vent is clear, poop looks normal. Eating and drinking. Gobbled a scrambled egg this evening. Maybe it’s just the bumble foot. Idk I appreciate you trying to help me!

Thank you for this picture and article. Certainly looks very similar. I’m hoping the bumble foot is the culprit and he heals.
