Welcome to BYC!

You will want to start in our learning center here on BYC for lots of great articles on all the aspects of keeping poultry....

Definitely stop by our Coops Pages for lots of great coop ideas. Some of these are easy to follow and even have plans....

And if you run into any trouble while building, you can ask questions in our Coop Construction forums for help...

But I will tell you, do not use any chicken wire on any outside areas of the coop or run as predators can chew right thru that stuff. So stick with hardware cloth. 1/2 inch is fine. Make sure there are no open areas, nothing can dig under and not even a mouse can enter. Build it like Fort Knox and your babies will be safe. Use locks on all doors as well.

Good luck with your coop build and welcome to our flock!
