Walnut kitty litter... is it safe to use in the coop?

I just saw your post. I've been using walnut litter for the hens for about 8 months and we love it. Even the coop smells better and scooping is a simple task
The hens like it too. . It's very simple to scoop the poop!
Do they eat the shells? We have some free-range hens and are looking for things to entertain them. Do you think they would like having a fresh pile of the crushed walnut shells (Naturally Fresh Litter)?

Ground walnut shells are micro razors. The shell is very sharp when cracked, even in tiny pieces. I was using the walnut shell litter for the cat and had recurring sinus bleeding from inhaling the dust. Be carefull with that stuff.
May I ask? Where did you get the info that walnut shell litter is micro razors??😄

Diamond nut Co. They sell the shells as an epoxy paint additive for traction. Have you ever shelled walnuts to sell to the nut processing plant because walnut meats are expensive and hard to extract? Walnut shells are sharp when cracked.
