Question is about chickens getting passive acquired immunity to Marek's through contact with wild turkeys.
I reposted this qestion in a new section because it got no response in 10 days!

I live on a wooded property and we have turkeys running through our woods almost every day. We tractor the chickens in the woods on hot or windy days,
and it's right in the turkeys path that they scratch & run. They/we even meet a turkey hen walking past the chicken ark now & then.
They're getting some nice turkey germs, DNA, or something by being where the turkeys have passed through. They've never actually touched turkeys though.
Would they also possibly get immunity this way? We're not allowed to keep turkeys in our township btw, so we can either immunize them, or let the wandering turkeys doit.

Does anyone with a nursing or poultry tech background want to take an educated guess at this?
