Most of the badges are awarded via nominations for the BYC Awards. The title below you are described changes depending upon your post count.

Yes those are my badges. Another BYC member has to nominate you for award. If you are active in the community someone will most likely nominate you. I know myself and a few other members go in search of members that are deserving of awards and nominate them. If you are nominated the nomination will be reviewed and if the award committee believes you are worthy of the award it will be given to you.
