LOL we had to write poems for English last year and I don't like writing poems so much so I decided to make it fun and write them about CHICKENS!.......& a duck. The rest are not about chickens because we had assigned subjects but the teacher had always wanted chickens and she almost took my silkie roo off my hands but then whoever she was living with didn't want any chickens. The last one is hardest because you have to rhyme the ending words of every other sentence. Not the greatest but thought I would share.
Chucky and Lucky
A boy by the name of Chucky
Once had a ducky named Lucky.
Chucky sunk like a rock
Lucky sat on the dock
When Lucky got chunky he wasn't so lucky.
Chickens
Scratching, pecking, clucking
Brown, white, red, grey, black
Grooming, running, flapping
Pick an here, drop it in a sack.
Old Mr. Roo sitting on his post
Watching his hens all day long
Loving them the most
All day long playing his song
Hens wadding through the tall grass
Clucking all the way
Making indents in the soft grass
Old Roo would follow them all day
When the light is lacking
All make their way back, cackling.
