I am new to chickens started this spring I started with hatching eggs but have read silkies are great at brooding and raising other chickens eggs...I have a very nice size coop and run with 46 chickens so far added in groups and are doing really good now that summers is in full force...
(waiting for the first farm egg) I want to add around 5 or 6 hen silkie and to be my mama chickens and maybe 1-2 roo...so keep in mind i prefer to save money by buying local and picking up...depending on what you have to offer/sell//give away i would pay shipping if weather permitting to bird comfort I have checked local paper and listing on various sites online ...many many for free...i just miss out being first it seems every time...lol...my other chicken and life duties is keeping me a bit busy
