So With Plans Of Keeping Things Going I Have Placed An Order For 40 Heavy Breed Hens, Astroplops, buffs, sussex, partige Rocks, ameraucana, brahma, dorking, And Marens, Would Like 5 Polish ,1 Roo And 4 Hens. What Is Your Opinon. I Have At Present A Roo About 5 Years Old About 8-10 Pounds Very Friendly.
Should I Or Not I Have A Coop That Is 18x8 And We Are Adding Another 8 Feet In The Late Summer.
Chicken Crazed :d

I added a couple banty polish hens as a rescue to my flock of standard chickens. One was getting her crest picked by a roster. Anyhow, I eventually got them blended in by putting in a little house with seperate food and water with the opening just large enough for them.

They are all blended in now and lay well. I actually like their medium white eggs the best because their yolks are the stoutest and darkest. It is also cool to see a white egg with a thick shell the way they are supposed to be.

They are a little dumb like people say and you just need to watch that their crests don't get picked.

Last year I jst wanted some crazy birds, so I got a sultan and an polish. We named the polish "Phillis Diller" and she was a black crested. I think it was about last week I went to a blue jackets game and I let the some of the birds out in the yard including phillis and when we came back everyone was there except you know who, and we cant find her body anywhere so we are guessing a hawk. but, its true that they are flighty she went everywhere. I think that she got lost and couldnt find anyone and probably got scooped up by the hawk. I would get a bigger coop for any bird with a crest. good luck!!!!
