Ok, let me try to get with the guy who wants the roo over the weekend. Do you have a way to keep the babies warm at night? They still sleep under their mommy and its been getting down in the 60s. I'll get back with you hopefully by Sunday night and maybe can meet you somewhere around 400 one afternoon next week.

Are you one of those people that takes free animals and sells them at the auctions or flea market
Those animals are treated cruelly and driven from place to place and rarely fed or given water.
They sometimes die before they ever even make it to the auction or flea market.
I know of someone who advertises for free animals and sells them to laboratory's.

Beware of people who you give your animals to they will say they are taking them to a good home.
But they could be taking them to their deaths

I have a golden cuckoo marans roo that needs a good home if he is what you might be wanting He is on the verge of being put in the freezer as he is the only one of his kind around here and I dont need him He hasnt even started crowing yet He was hatched March

I have a huge brood box:]. As for your concerns about how the animal will be treated, I assure you I weill provide a great home.

I am a senior in highschool who loves chickens!

Anytime you would like the chicks let me know. I have 3 of the Araucana crosses and 1 blue EE cockerel. I can meet you anytime between about 10:00 am - about 2:00 pm. and then after about 4:00 till whenever. We can meet at the McDonalds off 400 and the Gainesville exit. I'll try to figure out which one that is. Any day but tomorrow is fine.

Someone should really go check out this person's facilities if you are all serious about finding "good homes". I find this whole thing really, really strange. How could any one person be interested in all of these roosters? Let alone a high school student. Way creepy.

Some people like roosters. I do. I would keep them all if I could. Just because he is in high school doesn't mean he wont take care of them. Even if I sold someone my chickens doesn't mean they will. Anytime someone sells their animals, they're never sure how the animals will be treated. I am familiar with his area and even the school he goes to. I'm not at all concerned about the welfare of these chickens.

Roosters are awesome!!! I wish I could have one. But as you said, you can't keep them all. And this person claims he/she can.

I'm not concerned about the abilities of a HS kid to care for chickens at all-- I'm concerned about whether this person even IS a HS kid.

It is a given that when you rehome and animal you can never know where it will end up. Obviously the alternative for roosters is the dinner plate... which may be OK for some, but no one should misrepresent their intentions, which is my concern. An "I'll take anything" kind of post smacks of that sort of thing.

BUT-- If others on here are familiar with this person and facilities, and he/she is legit, that is excellent news for everyone posting! Someone willing to give a loving home to animals that are difficult to place is a hero in my book!!!! So I truly, truly hope that whomever this is they really have a heart this big and the ability to adequately care for all of these animals.
