Want to get a peahen but have two males

I have two males one caged one not. I want to get a female but not if its going to cause problems between the males. She would be caged with the one male. But they would be allowed to free range this winter. I can't afford two right now. maybe one this month one next month? But then would the girls fight? Thanks Crystal

We keep ours in trio's and haven't had any problems with the females together. If you have one cock caged then there won't be a problem with a single female.

No you will be fine, just like chicken when adding new birds they will fight and set a pecking order. The greens, and high % spalding will fight alot more. Just keep a area for hens to hide. this mostly for greens and spalding.

YUp. As long as you keep the males separate, when you ADD ONE female....that way there is nothing to fight for!

I have three to four females per male. You may have increased screaming but other than that no problem.

Can you keep your males together, yes if given enought room and even with hens. I house all my extra peacock together and with yearling peahens. If just breeding one color, all can be pen together. did that for years when i just bred blues and blackshoulder even over 50 birds all together.
