Want to know what people think of heated plastic waterers (3gallon)

I kind of did the same thing, but it was more like nine trys before I got it right, lol. I said a word that I don't think I have ever said in front of my 23 year old son before, lol. (Pass the Lifeboy, please.)

CATRAY 44,

I KNOW that word, in fact, I used it as well as I was dousing myself... used it repeatedly and with the volume up high! Fortunately, I was alone in a closed barn in the middle of acres and acres of farmland. I don't think that could have controlled that reaction even if my sweet little six year old daughter HAD been present. Thank heavens she was in the house doing her homework!

either one will work.. If you run out of duct tape then you can always revert to the proper tape..

Definitely check the level of whereever you put it; mine overflowed the first time because of that issue, in a location a regular waterer had stood with no issues.

I never had the handle break, because I've never used it. I took one look and figured that handle would NEVER hold the weight of 3 gallons of water.

Definitely fill it through the hole after you've put it together. You CAN do it the other way but it's real pain.

I've never dumped any water all over me flipping it over - I make the hubby do it!

Do they make something like this that you can hang from the ceiling that is electric? When they sit on the floor so much stuff gets in the water reservoir. It was -22 degrees this morning. BRRRRR!!!

I have one of those heated plastic waterers and pretty much agree with what the majority have said. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It works great to keep the water from freezing, but it's a pain in the caboose to flip over after filling and it MUST be level or it will leak over the rim. I set mine on bricks.

I'm glad I got it and it was worth the $$ - and I can't wait until it warms up and I can stop using it.
