The silver wyandottes father was a red wyandotte and had a single comb but his mother is a rose comb.

The "barred rock" is out of a hen that looks similar to him and was supposed to be a cuckoo maran but i seriously doubt she is. Eggs are a pale pink.
It would make him a black sex link.
So what you’re saying is that the “Barred Rock” is actually a mixed breed and the Silver Laced Wyandotte male is potentially a mixed breed. As far as I know there are no Red Wyandottes, there are Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, but not straight up Red Wyandottes like a Rhode Island Red. What breed was his mother?

I guess i should have been clearer the father of my rooster was a black laced red wyandotte with a straight comb who bred to a silver laced wyandotte with a rose comb i got 3 chicks out of them 2 were silver laced wyandotte roos with rose combs and a black laced red wyandotte hen with a single comb.

One of the silver roos was killed and the other helped sire this clutch of chicks
The hen lives with a friend of mine. I can post pictures of all

So... your Wyandotte is a Wyandotte color mix. He may be silver, but he carries the gold and red genes, so I wouldn't breed him hoping for silver.

the chick... I don't really see lacing on it at all, so I don't think that its Wyandotte. I'd say give it some time and let more feathers grow out so there's more distinction.

My guess is the Wyandotte is the father as the chick has incomplete lacing, which often happens with mixed breeds bred forward.

From my experience, a single gene barred/cuckoo'd rooster produces 50% black and 50% barred, both genders. In my experience, the black pretty much negates any underlying pattern or color. and that black has bred forward being stubborn to get rid of.

So I think you've got progeny from the Silver Laced Wyandotte rooster.

My thoughts.
