looking for blue orp eggs, I have 2 bators that will be empty by monday and I cant have empty bators now can I??? I would really like to find a few more blue orp eggs.

James Cox has blue orp eggs but he has a waiting list up to 3 to 4 weeks. I have pics of some of his chicks I hatch on another post. Let me know if you want to be on his list and I'll pm you his email address.

I would wait until the cold weather passes before I would order his eggs.

I got 18 of his orps and not one egg developed. All clear. I think it is too cold for the fragility of the blue orps to survive.

I PMd you.

I bought 16 from another seller, and have a big fat 0 for development too.

The Blue Orps are extremely delicate to ship, for some reason. That's why it takes us so many hatchings to get just a few birds. Sure helps if you can find them locally to pick up, but they are so rare, that you cant. Quite the catch-22.

I hatched out some of Cox's eggs and only ended up with two roos, one was butchered and the other one will be butchered in the spring.

If you can be patient, there will be someone who might have Blue Orps for sale chicks or eggs.

Sandhill has some chicks but getting filled up FAST! Get your orders in NOW if you want some of their chicks. OR you can ask some of the BYCers for some chicks or hatching eggs. Some of us are almost booked up for the spring and getting some for the summer list.
