No Way Baby GIF by MOODMAN
My mother would have washed my mouth out with soap.

Here’s mine.

I know, my coop is kinda dirty.
Note: don’t paint a coop that will hold muddy, poopy, messy chickens white.

It’s just a piece of wood with a small edge and sweet PDZ. Then theres L brackets that hold it onto the walls.
I use a cheap cat litter scoop to scoop the poop, then I put it into a 5 gallon bucket. And empty it once it onto the compost pile when it gets full.
It makes a beautiful poop cake.
In the future, I’d like to make the board bigger. It catches 90% of the splats, but not all of them.

@DobieLover can you show yours?
Covered in Sweet PDZ:

I've since switched to coffee grounds bedding. Lots cheaper and works the same.

I've got 23 in the flock right now and it only takes 15 minutes to do all the chores in the morning including sifting the boards.

Mine aren't pretty because we did a lot of recycling / salvaging / piecing together to make them, but here are mine when they were first put up. We've since added another small section to the right of where the first picture was taken, but I don't have a picture of that section handy.

The staining on the wall is from the previous ladder-style roost; they don't hit the wall anymore with this setup. I have 44 birds in this coop (but a couple sleep in the rafters and a few sleep on the lower roost / steps or elsewhere in the coop, so their droppings don't end up in the trays) and I scoop about twice weekly, three times a week at most. Takes me 15-20 minutes to sift through it all, smooth it back out, and haul the poop bucket out to the poop pile to dump it, depending on how many of the hens stop by to check my work (aka get in the way). :rolleyes:
