I would like to see some pics of your d'anvers, if you have some. I would love to get some. Do you sell eggs?

BBB,

I have been attempting to hatch out my Blue Quails for some time now. My hatch rate is very low. My hatch rate for other breeds are high. Is there anything I should be doing special for these D"Anvers, that you know of?

what's your hen to roo ratio?
I have never had less than 90 or 95% fertility on them here. They are extremely fertile.
We keep no more than 3 hens to a roo, preferably trios!
Also, how old are they?
Youngers birds lack a little potencey for the first few months of breeding.
If all else fails, you may just have a weak roo that needs replacing.
Hope that helped,
Aubrey

Aubrey,

They are fertile. Chicks not pipping is my main problem. But the hens are still young, (spring 08) Of course I have check all the usual handlings, and like I said my other breeds are having no issues. But I thought maybe this breed needed special humidity or something.....I will keep on trying!
