Wanted strong breeding pair of utility kings

Looking for true king pigeons
Trying to start meat production
Bought a pair of utility kings from Stromberg
Got ripped off
Bought some proven birds from independent and they are the size of normal pigeons
Just want a good solid pair of breeders

Sadly most places outside of Asian market breeders all have show or "utility" Kings.. true Kings not huge but posses double muscle Gene only found showing pure white huge breasted birds almost like new show American fantails. "Hubbell" lines are supposed to be genuine meat only family of Kings, but I've never seen personally. Only few breeders out here that I've talked to have Hubbell or good looking meat Kings.. two main in Louisiana that I haven't tried yet but look promising (third one who sold to other two recently passed I was told,) ones in Texas,ones in Florida, ones in Michigan. West coast full of nothing but unfortunately show birds, and your better off getting ferals, largest racing homers around. good conversion Birmingham rollers turning tablespoon of feed each of half layer half corn (or white presso millet, or wheat, or sorgum etc better carb substitutes for corn) to more economical ratio of feed to meat etc n breeding energy than Kings anyway (just smaller carcasses so more to clean which I just toss rest of blood organs marrow meat and skin to dogs etc with bones feathers etc).

Scott, try to locate a few good pair of Hubbells. Gary Carpenter in Cali has the original line of hubbells but not sure if he sells them to individuals but I;m sure someone else may have some in your area
